Adrift

The time traveler went to the future.

“Yeah… that makes sense”, he thought upon arriving.
“The universe is in constant motion”

He died adrift, where Earth used to be a hundred years ago.

Next Time

Comet 3I/ATLAS enters the solar system.
It narrowly misses Earth.
It continues onward, into deep space.

“A little more to the left next time!”, said Zubak-IV to the Delta-9 sniper.

Agreement

Doctor Victor was euphoric.
At last, he had completed the Machine of Absolute Agreement.

But it only took a second of inattention with his coffee…

The incident was a tragedy.
Everyone agreed it was.

The search had been long.
Tormented by endless night, they traveled ethereal roads with no beginning or end.
But when they finally crossed its threshold, they exclaimed:

“The prices at these space rest stops are outrageous!”

Starter

Baker’s bakery was the most traditional in the country.
Every batch was exactly the same.
His secret? The starter.

It wasn’t easy to find one compatible with the cloning process.

The Monster

He exhumed, dismembered, and stitched.
He prayed to the god he had once renounced.
The 1.21 gigawatts did the rest.

He was alive!

“Welcome back, Dr. Frankenstein”, said the monster as he resurrected his creator.

Lever

Richard ceased to exist when they pulled the lever.
When the electrical discharge stopped, everyone turned to the other end of the room.

“It worked!”, declared the man who believed himself to be Richard.

Restless Soul

A restless soul drifted through space.
It had no destination, a prisoner of inertia.
It was alone, the crew had gone.

“What am I?”, it wondered.
The sentient ship would have eternity to find out.

Tips

The best and worst part of being a Temporal Courier is the tips.
If you’re lucky, you might receive up to three gold coins in hand.
Or three stones to the head…
